SAANICH - More than 190 million people use the social networking site, Twitter, www.twitter.com. 'Tweeting' allows users to send short blasts of information to an unlimited amount of people in real time. The only restriction is keeping your message to 140 characters or less. Many businesses use the site to promote themselves and connect with customers. It allows you to use key words, resend interesting messages, and is often compared to a viral blog. Twitter has been around for years, but really took off after actor Ashton Kutcher challenged CNN to see who could get a million followers first. Kutcher won, and has gone on to have more than 6 million people following him. News Reporters and on air personalities can all be found on Twitter.
